and in the beginning...

Ages ago I posted a house tour. While sorting out stuff, M and I found these old photos from when we first moved in and started getting furniture....

Clearly, this was taken before we hung curtains. Fabric pinned over the window? So classy.

I remember M sending me this photo very fondly. I was in Sydney at the time, and our new couch had arrived early. I kid you not, for about two, maybe three months, we had no furniture except my desk, the bed and the tv, which sums up our life pretty much. We watched tv on an airbed on the floor and felt so sophisticated when we went to Kmart and got a cheap entertainment unit. All our books lived piled up along one wall. Then my parents and Willow came to visit, so we rushed out and got a bookcase and some tables and chairs. Then we got more shelving, and a rug, and we made this place our home. The end.

(Not really. We're talking about upgrading our dining table to one more suitable to tall people like us.)
