I've been meaning to write more about our new house. I have a heap of photos sitting in drafts, waiting to be coaxed into a post. Meanwhile, enjoy this picture of our living room at this present moment- a cross between 'crime scene' and 'squatters live here.' Also, the windows are all open (its winter. Its freezing) to let the dust out, so all our neighbors can look in and see the mess. Cringe.
M has been sanding the red suede walls. In hindsight, we should have rented our house for another week or something and done all this sanding then, rather than try to live around it.
If you're wondering why we need to sand the walls- its the only way to remove the suede effect. Sanding, then a thick coat of (expensive) stain blocker.
We have rose coloured dust everywhere. Tomorrow night, M will be on nightshift, but first he will paint the first coat on the walls. Tonight, I'm on cleaning duty- I get to get most off the dust off the floor, then scrub down the walls, while M and Willow watch the second How To Train Your Dragon at the cinemas. The most cheerful thought is that this is the most annoying and messy reno job we will probably ever have to do until we terrace the yard in several more years- after this, everything will be easier.
